Robert Lyons lives and works in Berlin, Germany and Western Massachusetts. He has taught extensively and is the Director of the Hartford Art School Limited Residency MFA Photography Program. He received his BA from Hampshire College and MFA from Yale University. Lyons has received numerous awards for his work including an NEA Survey Grant, Ford Foundation Grants, and most recently a MacDowell Residency. His work has been widely exhibited in the United States and Europe and is represented in many collections including The Metropolitan Museum, Seattle Art Museum, Henry Art Gallery, and the Hallmark Collection of Photography at the Nelson-Atkins Museum.
