Each year, CCNY invites emerging photographers living in New York City to apply for the CCNY Darkroom Residency Program. This residency offers local photographers much-needed workspace in New York City as well as access to the CCNY community and programs.
A three-person jury selects four artists for the residency program. This year, CCNY received a record number of 243 submissions, and a lot of very engaging and dynamic work. The jury, which included curator Elizabeth Saperstein, artist William Lamson, and artist and CCNY Board member Michi Jigarjian, was very impressed by the overall quality of the submissions, and the final choice was very difficult.
CCNY would like to thank all the artists who entered this year, and we congratulate the four recipients of the 2013 CCNY Darkroom Residency Program: Pierre Le Hors, Yijun Liao, Francesco Palombi, and Brea Souders. Please see the links below to view their work.
